Dr. Fauci admits he lied to the American people because “the country wasn’t ready” to hear the truth.

In a phone interview reported by the New York Times, Dr. Fauci said that he purposely kept changing his statements on the Covid-19 virus because he believed the American people weren’t ready to hear his beliefs.

In order for the U.S. to reach “herd immunity,” Fauci has been slowly saying that Americans that need to be vaccinated should increase according to the New York Times. Dr Fauci made a statement to the New York Times saying that, “partly based on new science, and partly on his gut feeling that the country is finally ready to hear what he really thinks.”

Earlier during the pandemic, Dr. Fauci said an interview that mask wont work and it wont really help you.

According to the New York Times, earlier during the year, Dr. Fauci said that 60-70% of the American people would need to be vaccinated to reach “herd immunity.” Last week in an interview with CNBC, Dr. Fauci changed his position and said that 70-80% plus of the population would need to be vaccinated.

With more and more people getting the vaccine, the number has been close to 90%. According to the Times, Dr. Fauci wants to keep the number because many Americans are weary of the Covid-19 vaccine. He is willing to increase the numbers as more people get the vaccine.
