Gavin Newsom, Governor of California, implemented new Covid-19 restrictions after coronavirus surged faster since the start of the pandemic.
“We are sounding the alarm,” Newsom said. “California is experiencing the fastest increase in cases we have seen yet — faster than what we experienced at the outset of the pandemic or even this summer. The spread of COVID-19, if left unchecked, could quickly overwhelm our health care system and lead to catastrophic outcomes.”
These new restrictions will force businesses to close their indoor service or set them back to the early Covid restrictions. This will also close most schools to close too. Newsom also strengthened the mask mandate when outdoors, and there are only a few expectations for one not to wear a mask. The Governor was also strongly considering a curfew on business during their business hours. The U.S. has seen 11 million Covid-19 cases over the past weeks, and California accounts for 1 million of those cases, the second-highest in the Country. California has about 40 million residents.
The new restrictions will continue to rattle small businesses and gym owners who were hit hard at the beginning of the pandemic. Many business and gym owners who struggled to get back on their feet after the first lockdown may be the final nail in the coffin and shut them down.
On Nov 6th, 2020, Gov. Newsom was caught violating his own state’s restrictions. In the photo, we see a maskless Gov. Newsom eating at an expensive restaurant. In the video, we also see 12 of his friends with no masks and no social-distancing. “Do as I say, not as I do, ” Gov. Newsom says.
