A homeopathic doctor is the first person to face federal charges for selling fake COVID-19 vaccine cards.

Juli Mazi of Napa, Calif. is accused of faking COVID-19 vaccine cards to indicate that customers had received the two-dose COVID-19 vaccine card made by Moderna, the Justice Department said in a statement.

Mazi is charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of false statements related to health care matters.

The Napa woman allegedly sold homeoprophylaxis immunization pellets that she said could create antibodies to combat COVID-19. She also falsified COVID vaccination cards to make it look like customers received the Moderna vaccine. https://t.co/bwLpbv8C4b
