A World Health Organization (WHO) team due to investigate the origins of Covid-19 in the city of Wuhan has been denied entry to China.
Two members were already en route, with the WHO saying the problem was a lack of visa clearances.
However, China has challenged this, saying details of the visit, including dates, were still being arranged.
The long-awaited probe was agreed upon by Beijing after many months of negotiations with the WHO.
The virus was first detected in Wuhan in late 2019, with the initial outbreak linked to a market.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he was “very disappointed” that China had not yet finalised the permissions for the team’s arrivals “given that two members had already begun their journeys and others were not able to travel at the last minute”.
“I have been assured that China is speeding up the internal procedure for the earliest possible deployment,” he told reporters in Geneva on Tuesday, explaining that he had been in contact with senior Chinese officials to stress “that the mission is a priority for WHO and the international team”.
ANOTHER In-N-Out Burger Shut Down For Refusing To Be ‘Vaccine Police’
The Burger chains are being punished for refusing to ‘segregate’ their customers
A second chain of In-N-Out Burger has been closed down by county authorities in California after it refused to go along with enforcing proof of vaccination orders.
The Washington Times reports that the restaurant in Pleasant Hill has been indefinitely closed by Contra Costa County health officials after ignoring orders to verify vaccine status or proof of a negative COVID-19 test among diners.
The report notes that the restaurant did display mandated signage detailing the requirements, but has refused to enforce the mandate.
Other chains of the restaurant in the area have also received warnings and fines, according to the Times.
As we previously reported, In-N-Out Burger is rebelling against what it calls the “clear overreach” of COVID-19 mandates by insisting “we refuse to be the vaccination police.”
A San Francisco branch of the burger chain was shut down on October 14 before being reopened but only for takeout and outdoor service.
In-N-Out Burger’s chief legal and business officer Arnie Wensinger said in a statement that “As a Company, In-N-Out Burger strongly believes in the highest form of customer service and to us that means serving all Customers who visit us and making all Customers feel welcome.”
Further describing the proof of vaccine mandate as a “clear governmental overreach,” as well as “intrusive, improper, and offensive,” Wensinger urged that “We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government,” and “It is unreasonable, invasive, and unsafe to force our restaurant associates to segregate customers into those who may be served and those who may not, whether based on the documentation they carry, or any other reason.”
Leaked Government Report Finds Vaccine Passports Could Actually Increase Spread of COVID
A leaked government report has found that vaccine passports could actually exacerbate the spread of COVID because they would encourage people to visit smaller, more poorly ventilated venues.
According to the report, compiled by the the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport [DCMS], introducing the scheme could actually have the opposite intended effect.
“If certification displaces some fans from structured and well ventilated sports stadia, this could lead to them attending unstructured and poorly ventilated pubs instead, where they will have access to more alcohol than if there were in the stadia,” states the report. “Evidence from the Euros showed spikes in cases associated with pubs even when England were playing abroad.”
“The policy would also slash turnover for the organisers of events required to use vaccine passports, and necessitate the hiring of thousands of new stewards which may be hard to deliver,” reports the Telegraph.
After Scotland tried to introduce vaccine passports, the process was called an “unmitigated disaster,” with staff at nightclubs receiving abuse and the technology repeatedly failing.
Many venues decided to close early and lost 40% of their footfall, illustrating once again how the scheme will put innumerable nightclubs that operate on a profit margin of 15% out of business for good.
Another example of how vaccine passports are largely useless is the fact that providing a negative test is no longer being offered as an option, despite the fact that the vaccinated can still transmit the virus.
As we highlight in the video below, people visiting nightclubs in Ireland had to be vaccinated to get in, but were then told that masks were not required while dancing.
Apparently, COVID has developed some form of artificial intelligence so that it knows when to leave people alone when they are rubbing up to dozens of other sweaty people in close proximity.
Denmark Reports Highest Infection Rate Since May Despite 75% of Population Being Fully Vaccinated
Denmark has reported its highest COVID-19 case load since May, despite the fact that over 75 per cent of the population is fully vaccinated.
A total of 1,349 people in the Scandinavian country tested positive over the last 24 hours, the highest number for four months, while 167 Danes were hospitalized, also the highest amount since May.
The country’s virus reproduction (R number) has also jumped to 2.01, which is the highest level since January.
“As such, these figures are not a disaster, but if they continue to rise in the coming days, then it points in the direction that we must do something,” Roskilde University epidemiologist Viggo Andreasen told TV2.
According to Andreasen, a rise was expected due to the Autumn holidays, but the severity of the climb has caused shock because “more vaccinated people had fallen ill” despite booster shots already being rolled out.
Over 75 per cent of Denmark’s 5.8 million inhabitants have been fully vaccinated.
“Although the vaccines are good, there is something here that indicates that they are not quite as good as we would like,” Andreasen acknowledged.
The spike will once again prompt questions as to the efficacy of the vaccine and the sheer amount of ‘booster shots’ that will be needed, in comparison to the far greater protection offered by natural immunity.
As the Times of Israel summarized, studies showed that natural immunity provided Israelis “longer-lasting Delta defense than vaccines.”
“The variant was 27 times more likely to break through Pfizer protection from January-February and cause symptoms than it was to penetrate natural immunity from the same period,” reported the newspaper.
